PRESS: Interior Ministry opposes bill legalizing online alcohol sale

MOSCOW, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Interior Ministry has prepared a negative review on the Finance Ministry’s bill seeking to legalize online sale of alcohol, daily Izvestiya reported on Thursday.

The Interior Ministry sent its opinion about the bill to Deputy Finance Ministry Alexei Sazanov and the government, saying that the new channel of alcohol sales will make it more available and will raise the number of crime committed in the state of alcoholic intoxication.

The Interior Ministry also thinks the move will raise risks of alcohol sales to minors.

A government source told the daily that the Interior Ministry’s position is serious, well grounded, confirmed by statistics and can block the bill.
